Elisa Gomez, 80, died of natural causes on Thursday, March 3, 2016 in Chicago, IL. She was born on August 23, 1935 in Jalpa, Zacatecas. She married Nestor Gomez in December 1956 and moved to Chicago, IL shortly afterwards.

Elisa worked as an environmental housekeeper at St. Anthony Hospital. Prior to that, she worked at Schwinn Bicycle Company, Spraying Systems, and Douglas Furniture.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Belem Valenzuela and Atanacio Gutierrez; her husband, Nestor Gomez; and her sister, Raquel Gutierrez.

She leaves her beloved children, Nestor Gomez, Jr., Lee Gomez, and Martha Calvillo.

Mama Licha leaves her grandchildren Mario Garcia; Victoria Angelina, David, and Daniel Gomez; Melissa, Armando Calvillo Jr., and Daisy Resendez; and sisters, Evangelina Chavez, Belen Ortega, Yolanda Chavez, and Evelia Serrano, along with many nieces and nephews.
