Jesus Acuña was born on June 12th, 1953 in his beloved Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico. Jesus fought a long strong fight against cancer, he wouldn't give up but at some point his body gave in. He passed away at the age of 64 on Monday, October 23, 2017 in Mt. Sinai Hospital. He is survived by his family. Dearest husband of Graciela Acuña and loving father of Jesus the 3rd, Sonia and Edgar. Cherished grandfather of seven grandchildren.There are no words to describe how much Jesus will be missed by his loving family. He inspired each and everyone of us to always be the best we can be. He was strong, funny, and believed in the value of a honest hard earned living. He was a storyteller, he always had an interesting or funny story to tell. Whenever you least expected, he had a joke for you.

He came to the United States in hopes of a better future for his family and he worked tirelessly and did the best he knew how. He worked hard to do the right thing and established himself as a citizen of this beautiful country that gave fruit to provide for him and his family. He always had words of wisdom and made light of the tough times.

He would always brighten our days and put a smile on our faces. He came from a very humble upbringing and his love was always in providing for his family. Jesus had a voice that could serenade the stars, all his memories will live forever inside each and every one of his family, friends and anyone that knew him. We'll miss you Chuy, you will live in our hearts.
